What's It All About

And the people in youth ministry are awesome!  I get to encourage and support our youth leaders in the United Brethren Church in Canada in what they do best, love Junior and Senior High students and connect them with Jesus.

What's it all about?

Student Ministry is making disciples of Jesus Christ among youth.

Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

I love that!

What is a disciple? A disciple is someone who is growing in what Jesus said was the most important commandment.

"And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these."

So, what do we do in student ministries?

We have varied ministries in varied contexts, no set "this is how we do it" denominational youth ministry. We have some common events and training that we join for:

But it all comes back to growing disciples who love God with their all and love their neighbours as themselves.
