The New Church Development Team is here to serve, and encourage the United Brethren Church. It is our prayer that we would see Gods’ Kingdom expand with the Gospel of hope.

“Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile.
Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
Jeremiah 29:7

A) The “Next Step Package: This missional resource was dispersed last fall at the Conference business meeting. The missional scorecard/evaluation was used at the 2010 Audit with each UB Church in February. Four Churches participated in the Missional Project with the $250 incentive to develop an outward focused event in their community.

B) Axiom: Jim Tice and Liz Cudney participated in “Axiom,” a Forge Canada training course. The course has provided a chance to connect with world-renowned Missional thinkers/teachers and journey together with other Denominations.

C) Peer Consultation: The NCD Team met with leaders of multiple Denominations similar to our own, to glean information and wisdom for our future plans.

D) Re:Calibrate Road Shows: There were two regional Re:Calibrate Road Shows in the Niagara and KW areas, reaffirming the UB missional direction. The Road show with Phil Wagler the author ,of “Kingdom Culture” who provided tools to identify our present Church Culture and an assessment of each Church’s health. Seventy of our MVP leaders participated in this training.

E) Re:Calibrate 2010: This Leadership event was held Oct.16th at Parkwood Gardens. The theme was, “Boots on the Ground,” assessing the mission ahead. The plenary speaker was Jared Seibert leader of Church Development for the Free Methodist Church of Canada, and Kevin Makins Pastor of Eucharist Church Plant in Hamilton. There were 115 United Brethren leaders in attendance. Each Church completed energy audits and ministry maps to assess where we are, and where we are going in the mission ahead.
